Rome Through the Ages. (10 days) Experience the magnificience of the ancient world with the American Classical League as you are guided through some of the most famous momuments, museums, and archeological sites in Ancient Rome & in nearby Campania. Beginning on the shores of the Tiber River, travel through time as you walk the streets of the emperors, explore ancient sites, and wonder at the exquisite beauty of the statues and artwork housed in the museums in Rome. Imagine walking in the houses of Livia and Augustus, standing in front of the Rostra in the Roman Forum, donning a hard hat to explore the underground site of Nero's Golden House, and exploring the tombs along the Regina Viarum, Appian Way, while you make your way to the backlots of Cinecittà , where movies like Cleopatra, and Ben Hur were filmed, as well as the Ancient Rome series on HBO.

| Campania Excursion Add-On. (5 days) Following the Rome program, you can choose to continue your journey with the group as they travel by motor coach to sunny Sorrento in the south of Italy. From here you will visit the archeological wonders of Pompei, Herculaneum, and Opolontis while you see first hand artisans making inlaid wood masterpieces, Mozzarella di Bufalo, and wine on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius. |
