Nomina et Bullae: Names & Bullas in the Latin Classroom

Roman bullas were protective amulets bestowed upon children when they were given their names on the 8th or 9th day after birth. Presenter Ginny Lindzey has always tied the picking of Latin names with the creation of bullas. “Names & Bullas” will walk you through the process she uses with students for both selecting a name to use throughout the year, as well as fashioning a bulla to ward off those evil spirits which deprive students of knowledge during a test or quiz.
