Our statement of solidarity lays out a vision of the American Classical League as it could be and as we hope it will be. It represents our regret and our commitment; our recognition of our history as it was and our determination to write a better future. The statement is only provisional, because justice work is never complete. This is our current list of intentions and actions; we know it is a work in progress, as ACL is, and as we all are. Purple boxes indicate steps we have already taken and yellow indicates ongoing work.

This page and the list below of action items is one way for us to be accountable to a transformed culture where teachers and students who are Black, Indigenous and other People of Color can thrive in the work of ACL/JCL/ETC at all levels, including in our leadership and publications. We welcome your input, feedback, questions, concerns, and support.
